Steampunk Maze Box
thingiverse
Hello! This is my fourth puzzle box, I hope you enjoy it. It's incredibly easy to print and assemble, requiring only a rubber band. You'll notice that this is a maze box, where the challenge lies in reaching the end to unlock the box. Since resolving a typical maze can be rather straightforward - simply follow the path - I've designed this one to be more challenging. To begin with, you won't see a clear path to the finish line, and the location of the ball bearing isn't always apparent. Additionally, the four gears will open or close paths as needed. The ball bearing is 6mm in diameter; feel free to print it just like I did, or use a metal one if you prefer. If you opt for a smaller ball, be aware that the lock may not open properly, so be sure to scale down all the pieces accordingly. When printing, I recommend setting a layer height of 0.1mm, a low print speed, and brim support. Each piece is carefully oriented to ensure smooth printing with minimal supports required. By designing the box flat, you won't need to rely on supports, and it's also easier to decorate as desired.
