While many printable prosthesis designs have made significant strides in proving their functionality, they still have a long way to go in terms of aesthetics. This iteration aims to build upon that foundation by making it more creative, fun, and acceptable to children, ultimately alleviating the psychological stress associated with using a prosthesis. This is just the beginning, and most of the aesthetic and base structure are now complete. However, a level of refinement and revision towards the function and usability is still required to take this design to the next level. Future improvements will include variable finger tension and a rotatable thumb. To print this design, you'll need 5 "turrets" for each string, as well as 4 sets of finger parts - all fingers use the same part, except for the thumb, which has its own unique 2-joint set. The stretchy cord should be tied to the circle to keep it flush within the system. Assembly begins with pressing the corner furthest away from the thumb first. Very tight tolerances are essential; make sure you test one set of finger joints for tolerance before proceeding. The skin should fit snugly on the internal part, preventing any movement that could compromise the pins' position.
