Steampunk Hinge

Steampunk project hinge. This is amazingly strong, with a capacity of at least 15-20 lb or 7 kg minimum. I use 1.75 mm filament as the hinge pin. Printed in ABS at .3 mm resolution, it's perfect for large and small boxes or cabinets. I applied a finish by coating with acetone mixed with copper powder as the first coat, followed by a mixture of 1/2 carpenters glue and 1/2 water with copper powder again. The result is a beautiful green hue that changes color with humidity, just like desired. This finish polishes nicely with soft Dremel tools. Printed in ABS at .3 mm resolution, this hinge is designed to withstand heavy loads. The resulting finish changes color with humidity, taking on a beautiful green tint. For added shine, simply polish with soft Dremel tools.
