I acquired a new antique gold filament and decided to test its capabilities by printing some goggles. As I navigated through the source, I stumbled upon an iris attachment that caught my attention. I became determined to integrate it into the project. To accommodate the housing from the iris diaphragm, I modified the original goggles' design. The blades were made 150% thicker and the peg was removed entirely. However, I encountered a challenge with the tension clip, which refused to sit properly and keep the blades in place. To resolve this issue, I designed a cliplocker that can be glued onto the goggles after assembly. The printing process for the iris diaphragm's blades is crucial. The blade should be printed parallel to the bed and resting on a peg, with supports added to maintain its position. A 2-layer support distance was used to ensure easy removal. The difference between Blade_1 and Blade_2 lies in their mirrored design, allowing the "nice" side to face outwards on both sides. To print the required components, follow these steps: Print six units of Blade_1.stl, six units of Blade_2.stl, two units of Cliplocker(GluedOn).stl, one unit of Gogglyboi_1, one unit of Gogglyboi_2, one unit of Housing_1.stl, and one unit of Housing_2.stl. Once printed, add a strap and nose bridge string of your choice. I opted for leather for both components.
