Steampunk Goggles

thingiverse

I really wanted a pair of steampunk goggles to call my own, so I got started on making one. To begin with, I had some round orange mirror lenses from an old pair of sunglasses that I thought would be perfect for the goggles. From there, I worked out how to make the frame using white ABS, and then painted it with acrylic paint in a way that gave it a vintage look. The belt is actually made from touch-and-close fastener tape. I've also included the OpenSCAD source code so you can modify the model yourself if you want to create your own goggles. I tried to make sure the design was as easy to print as possible, and fortunately, no supports are needed at all. For a sturdy pair of goggles, it's best to use 100% infill.
