There is a thin gap between the frame and the display separating the whole frame from touching the display.. Use some thin felt or fabric to apply. Evenso I did not manage once to scratch the screen with the PLA printed Frame it cant hurt placing something soft in between.
( also in case you have sunlight bleeding in between but that would need just the perfect angle which in 99.5% of all cases wont happen )

For the locking mechanism on the Flaps I used two magnets folded in electrical Isolation tape and attached to the top surface ( nicely flexible) They by its own clip on the folded flaps holding them in place the moment the they are attracted by the two magnets glued in the side flaps. ( Again pay attention to polarity!)

The “Sunshade_locks” go on the left and right of the top flap and prevent the side flaps to pass over and stand out to the sides. ( you can see two specific areas where they need to be placed on the top flap)

PETG Clamp and LID need to be glued together.

Pay special attention about the magnets so you dont glue them in with the wrong polarity, repelling the corresponding magnet that actually should be attracted!

Cut the paperclips into straight bars and glue them into place ( see picture) , use some electrical tape to give them additional stability in addition to the superglue.

The flaps go in the frame in one side that is locked and the other open to slide the second end down into position. After your done, use some epoxy scult or pretty much any small object that fits in and glue it in so the shaft oft the flap cannot slide out again but can still move, I used my 3d printing pen to close the tiny gaps.

The files include only one side Flap, just print it twice! ( dont forget to mirror it if you want the same finish on the out or inside!)

Every round cutout except for the Guiding pins needs either a 6x3 or 8x1mm magnet glued into.

A total of 10 Magnets are used in a complete Steam shade

You are going to need 2 sorts of magnets, easy available from amazon or ali express.

6x3mm round neodymium Magnet
8x1mm round neodymium Magnet
Also the big Kind of Paperclips, as we are going to need the metal wire for our flap hinges
Electronical isolation tape
Super glue
Some fancy effect foil/ car wrap if you want the same carbon look I did on my Shade.

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/okkXLitmHgQ"></oembed>

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/dC_reAESrW8"></oembed>
