Steam Punk 3D Printed Goggles
thingiverse
Safety in mind with a dash of steampunk flair, this is the foundation unit that you can upgrade with fresh attachments using the conveniently located rivet holes. I'm excited to craft some add-ons but feel free to let your imagination run wild for now. This design fits anyone - from my 5-year-old daughter to myself perfectly, making it an excellent choice for any adventurer. To bring your vision to life, you'll need to fashion a custom lens yourself; I prefer Plexiglass and use a laser cutter to get the job done quickly. Be sure to choose lenses with a 45mm diameter. For an extra touch of comfort, look for 0.5-inch elastic bands at your local crafting supply store's sewing section. If you'd like, you can also use 3mm PLA material for rivets instead of standard M3 screws. To secure the eye cups to the glass frames, simply apply a small amount of super glue - just be sure to complete this step before inserting the lens, or you might breathe in some unwanted fumes. After allowing it to dry completely, your new goggles are ready to wear and enjoy for many adventures to come! (See how I built them in my tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqNxYHWpYko)
