Steam Deck - Valve Dock Adapter for Dbrand Killswitch Case
prusaprinters
UPDATE:Pressure Fit version has been added! The pressure fit version can be assembled without any hardware and only requires at minimum, two presfit inserts and two presfit bridges. Just as with the m3 version, pres fit clamps are included for added staying strength but are not mandatory.--------------------Details:The Dbrand Killswitch case for the Valve Steam Deck doesnt fit into the official Valve Dock. These adapters create a deeper platform for the cased deck to rest in. The adapter depth was designed for the Killswitch case, but may accept cases from other brands. The current designs for both m3 and presfit versions accept a total device thickness of 24.5mm around the midsection. If you find a case that does not fit with this design, let me know in the comments what your device's thickness is and I can make an alternate version of the insert that accepts thicker cases.NOTE: The official Valve Dock's cable also does not fit into the Killswitch case's charging port. I had to use an xacto knife to cut away some of the rubber around the charging port to allow it to seat fully. Do so at your own discretion. Alternatively, use a USB-c extension (adapter or cable) to circumvent this. The included Clamp file allows a method for clamping the adapters to the dock for better stability on Deck insertion/removal, but are not mandatory.m3 Hardware Assembly:hardware required:2 x m3x14mm bolt2 x m3x16mm boltif not using clamps, replace with 2 x m3x14mm bolt4 x m3 nutInsert m3 nuts into the slots at each end of the bridges, oriented similarly to the slot wall shape. Sandwich bridges between dock inserts, screw M3 screws through insert holes and into the nuts in the bridges. If using clamps, sandwich inserts and bridges between clamps and screw thru clamps into insert/bridge sandwich (see photos).
