<p>&nbsp;This is a mount to add a usb ssd to the steam deck using the DECKMATE SYSTEM <a href="https://www.printables.com/model/214467-steam-deckmate">Steam DeckMate by Elegant | Download free STL model | Printables.com</a></p><p>I was going for a slim down snap together system to add more storage to my steam deck while suppling power. I laid out the wires and thought about where would be the best to put particular plugs. &nbsp;I landed on having the power out the bottom and the SSD laided out in a way to tidy up the wires I had the best way I could see.</p><p>originally, I tried a slip-on design for the SSD cover, but my first attempt was a little less slide on and a little more snap on it just snaps into place with a little wiggling. &nbsp;I was happy with the result so haven't altered the design since v1 other to make it a little thicker on the grating part. The SSD cover allows the deck to lay flat on tables without a problem and I took special care not to come to close to the back paddles to hinder the function</p><p>Now I have a steam deck with a 256 GB SD card and a 1 tb SSD and can charge it whenever I need power plus it is in a slim enough design that i can take it with me. &nbsp;just have to have a different case solution since it is too big for the stock case with the attachment on the deck.&nbsp;</p><p>Parts designed around:</p><ol><li>I chose the <a href=" Amazon.com: Crucial X6 1TB Portable SSD – Up to 800MB/s – USB 3.2 – External Solid State Drive, USB-C - CT1000X6SSD9 : Electronics">Crucial drive</a> for the small footprint in a 1 tb size.&nbsp;</li><li><a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PFQXJR3?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&amp;th=1">USB C to USB C Female Adapter USB Splitter Y</a> Cable,USB C Male to 3 USB-C Female Cord Converter,3 USB C Port Hub Charger Power Split Adapter&nbsp;</li><li><a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B8X6H96S?psc=1&amp;ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details">90 deg usb c adapter</a></li><li>2 springs from pens for clip</li><li>print <a href="https://www.printables.com/model/214467-steam-deckmate/files"><strong>Deck_Mate_Marked_02.stl</strong></a><strong> </strong>from the DeckMate project</li></ol><p>The print settings that I used:</p><p>0.20mm layer height</p><p>3 perimeters</p><p>solid layers top 6 &nbsp; bottom 4&nbsp;</p><p>Material: PLA</p><p>20% infill gyroid</p><p>no supports</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>some small bridging in some areas isn't completely fine-tuned but came out good enough for me without supports.</p>
