Steam Deck Monopod

Steam Deck Monopod

The Steam Deck can get heavy over long gaming sessions, and I found myself sitting awkwardly with the deck resting on my stomach. I already had zacques kickstand, and really liked the design, and had already used/made some other gopro mount things, so I imported the kickstand into freecad and added the gopro mount. It needs to be printed with supports unfortunately, but using superslicer's paint on supports makes it very simple to just add supports to the gopro mount. Then I needed a ball-socket foot and a gopro-mount to ballsocket adapter, so I found this one(https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1194001) and made a corresponding ball-socket foot in freecad. This may need some revision, as it worked well at first, but after a while it becomes to lose for my preference. I may look in to adding a tpu sleeve option or something to increase grip.

For the arms I reused HeyVye's modular mounting system(https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2194278). 1 straight 60mm arm, and 1 90degree 60mm arm.

It works surprisingly well, and is able to function as a stand in the down position.

The gopro mount also means I can add other things to it such as a battery/dock/hub mount. We'll see.

Freecad(linkstage3 branch) files attached as well. Not sure if they'll open correctly in the main release branch of freecad.

Whole project designed on the steam deck, for the steam deck.
