Steam / Compressed Air Engine Model

thingiverse

Here's an updated model for our improved steam/compressed air engine. It features a half-stroke design, significantly enhanced for smooth operation using compressed air. The cylinder wall has also been thickened to accommodate easy screwing of the cylinder cap. For optimal performance, use graphite as lubricant and conduct some sanding and filing before firing it up. A consistent airflow supply of 90 Lbs is required for flawless running. Important Safety Note: Instructions When attaching a drill to the flywheel shaft, you'll find it slightly longer than necessary. Don't worry, that's deliberate! This extended length provides ample space to drive the drill during the engine breaking-in process. As soon as your new steam/compressed air engine has been properly broken in with graphite lubrication, feel free to cut that flywheel shaft back down to size.
