This lightweight 3D-printed nylon satellite frame, weighing under 100g, expands from its original 1U cubesat shape post-deployment to increase parallax between sensors for enhanced depth perception. With a surface area more than twice that of the standard cube configuration, optional active joint systems allow for positional control. Integrated control line guide holes and active articulation enable the satellite to reorient itself in space. The frame is designed for SLS or FDM manufacturing methods and can print without support material in zero gravity. Unique features include eliminating deployment springs and separation switches, instead opting for reusable launcher-integral deployment systems to reduce wasteful habits within the industry.
