This is a mount for the Gotek floppy emulator that looks exactly like a normal floppy drive. It has normal floppy drive mounting screw holes too so will fit anywhere a standard full size 3-1/2" floppy rive will fit. The flap will open and allow most USB sticks to fit the Gotek, except for very short ones or very fat ones. The Amiga 2000 version is taller to fit the A2000 case and looks like the original Amiga 2000 floppy drive. It doesn't have a flap. The front face of this version prints separately because of overhangs that would cause trouble otherwise. Four 2 mm holes help with alignment when gluing the front face to the main body. I designed this with IBM PC's in mind for MS DOS use just to make transfer between modern and old systems easier while retaining the original look. Since I wanted a fully stealth setup and a PC doesn't require a lot of image files on disk like a more floppy dependent system like for example Amiga would, I opted to make the LCD hidden since it's not necessary to flip through a lot of images. It's still visible through the slot. The LCD can be omitted entirely if all you ever do is transfer one or two images at a time. It requires that the switches are rewired to the new location, and either the black nubs on the old switches are cut off or unsoldered so as to clear the flap when it flips open. Also move the activity indicator LED to the little hole on the left side of the drive face. Cut a small rectangular piece of hot glue and stuff it in the drive indicator hole to create a diffusor. The two 6x6x12 mm tactile switches can be secured to the frame in one of two ways. Two of the legs of each can be inserted through the bottom and then bent back to hold them in place, or the bottom legs can simply be cut off and the switches secured with a dab of hot glue on the top instead. Wiring them to the PCB is super easy. Just add wires from each exposed leg of the switches to the same points on the Gotek PCB as the original switches. The "eject" button is used to select images on the Gotek by pressing the left or right side of the button respectively. The Gotek should be set up to suit your application/possibly flashed with the right firmware to suit your machine. Find instructions online.
