STC1000 Temperature Controller Housing

STC1000 Temperature Controller Housing

I'm building a mains powered heated bed for my printer, so I needed a custom housing to fit around the temperature controller. To match my printer's design, I created this enclosure that will slide under the print bed, but it can be used on any machine if desired. I'll attach it in the position shown here, although you might want to add stick-on rubber feet for free-standing use. The retaining clips for the controller slide into place along the inside of the housing from behind. Use a long thin object like a needle file to push them in. To release the clips, access the button through the slots on either side using a needle file or similar tool. I printed this enclosure at 100% fill density since the walls are quite thin. The solid face is only 0.2mm thick and can be removed after printing. I added this feature because I struggled with printing small supports, and it helps them extend across the front of the part.
