STAX L300 headphone cap - Closed back
thingiverse
Hi everyone, I've decided to try something new this time around. Anyone out there who owns STAX knows that it's tough to find real mods for their system. The following is a replacement ear cup for the L300/ SRS-3100 earspeakers. Printing is straightforward, just lay the model on its flat bottom face and use build plate supports to keep it clean. The caps are designed to be mounted on either side, so you'll only need one model to print both sides. To replace your old ones, simply remove the ear pads and unfasten the four screws holding the frame to the cap. Then, carefully remove the cap, making sure to gently pull the wiring from the cap and swap it with the new one. They do a great job of keeping noise in and boost the bass quite dramatically, but please know that I'm not an audio expert, so these will decrease overall sound quality and may need significant EQ adjustments. I've included the .STL, .IPT, AND .IGS file because I hope someone with more expertise can make these work better. As it stands, they should fit properly on the L300's (since I don't own any other system, I couldn't test them on other earspeakers). If you do decide to modify them, please remember to give me credit for my part in creating these files. As always, I won't be responsible for any issues or damages to your headphones or computer when you download and use these files. Only mod your systems if you're confident in your ability to do so, especially since earspeakers are very sensitive and expensive devices.
