On November 9, 2015, during a crucial meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his top defense advisors, television news cameras snapped a glimpse of a slide outlining a proposed nuclear-powered underwater unmanned vehicle (UUV). Dubbed "Ocean Multipurpose System Status-6" on the slide, this UUV is engineered to infiltrate a port city and detonate a high-yield nuclear warhead that has been specially treated to maximize both the amount and persistence of radioactive fallout. This catastrophic event would render the affected area uninhabitable for years to come.
