Statuette of priestess of Isis

myminifactory

This statuette of a priestess of Isis proudly wears a long robe draped elegantly with a cloak tied snugly around her waist in a large Isiac knot. On her lips are faint impressions of the double flute, now a lost relic of ancient artistry. The iconography, well-documented mainly through paintings, evokes the grand celebration of the Navigium Isidis, where devoted initiates, skilled musicians, vocalists, and dancers all came together in devotion to the cult of Isis. It is believed to date back to the 2nd century AD.
