Statuette of Nike

This small statue was discovered at Epidauros. The figure sat atop the western pediment of the temple of Artemis as its rightmost akroterion. Nike advances forward, lifting her left leg with purpose, as her garment flows behind her in gentle folds. Her wings, crafted from a single piece of marble, are securely fastened to her back.
