Statue of matron
thingiverse
The enigmatic figure of a matron stands tall, a 1st century BCE relic from ancient Rome's storied past, crafted with meticulous care in gleaming marble. Housed within the Musée du Cinquantenaire in Brussels, Belgium, this masterpiece was captured with RealityCapture's precision. This statue embodies the traditional female form, drawing inspiration from the late Hellenistic period and exemplifying the virtue of pudicitia - modesty. Originally intended as a funeral portrait, it would have been placed upon a tomb along one of Rome's grand thoroughfares. Though restored in parts, the lower face and nose still bear testament to their original state. For more captivating updates, I invite you to follow me on Twitter at @GeoffreyMarchal.
