Livia Drusilla, also known as Julia Augusta after formally being adopted into the Julian family in AD 14, served as the wife of Roman Emperor Augustus throughout his entire reign and also acted as his trusted adviser. She gave birth to Emperor Tiberius, made her paternal grandmother Emperor Claudius, and became the maternal great-great-grandmother of Emperor Nero. Emperor Claudius acknowledged her title of Augusta and had her deified.
