Statue of King Sesostris III (One of Three) at the British Museum, London
myminifactory
This imposing black granite statue is one of a trio that showcases King Sesostris III's likeness with exceptional precision, characteristic of Egyptian sculpture during his reign in the late Twelfth Dynasty. The faces are skillfully crafted, while the ears appear slightly oversized, a common feature among statues from this period. This remarkable work of art was donated to the British Museum in London by the Egypt Exploration Fund in 1905 and remains on permanent display for public appreciation. This object is part of "Scan The World", an innovative non-profit project initiated by MyMiniFactory that aims to create a comprehensive digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe, freely accessible to all.
