Statue of King Khasekhem
myminifactory
This ancient limestone statue of Khasekhem, last ruler of Egypt's 2nd Dynasty, showcases one of the earliest existing examples of royal statuary from this remarkable civilization. The king proudly wears the distinctive White Crown of Upper Egypt and is enveloped in a flowing long robe. His right fist has been carefully drilled to securely attach a separate object, likely a sturdy mace handle or sceptre. The king's name is boldly inscribed at his feet (left), written within a detailed representation of the palace facade, symbolically topped by the majestic falcon god, Horus.
