Statue of Hermes [2]

myminifactory

Statue of Hermes crafted from Pentelic marble and discovered at Aigion in Peloponnese. The deity is shown standing, with a chlamys wrapped tightly around his left arm. In his right hand, he grasps a purse, while his left hand holds the caduceus. Created during the Augustan period (27 BC-AD 14), this piece likely originated from funerary inspiration drawn from Lysippean originals of the 4th century BC. This object is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory, which aims to create a digital repository of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from around the globe for public access free of charge. Scan The World is an open-source community effort; if you have interesting items nearby and wish to contribute, email stw@myminifactory.com to learn how you can participate.
