A Hermaphroditus is a legendary being where masculine and feminine traits are seamlessly blended together. According to Greek mythology, this unique individual was the offspring of Aphrodite and Hermes - born as a remarkably attractive boy who caught the eye of Salmacis, a water nymph, who fell deeply in love with him and fervently prayed to be united with him forever. A god heard her plea and merged their two forms into one, transforming them into an androgynous being.
