The statue portrays Roy, a distinguished high priest of Amun-Ra in Thebes, with crossed arms and an elegant pleated robe from the Ramesside era. Positioned in the temple of Mut, wife of Amun-Ra, it depicts Roy holding a sistrum, a ritual rattle associated with Hathor's cult. With its cow-eared face, the sistrum was also played for certain goddesses with Hathoric attributes. Dating back to the 19th Dynasty during Ramesses II to Sety II's reign (circa 1220-1200 BCE), this artifact originates from the Karnak temple complex in Thebes, Egypt, and is now displayed at the British Museum in London.
