Statue of Atropos
myminifactory
This statue represents Atropos standing beside a pedestal, grasping her scissors tightly. Atropos, known in Greek mythology as Aisa, was one of three Moirai goddesses, responsible for fate and destiny. Her Roman counterpart was Morta. As the eldest of the Three Fates, Atropos earned the nickname "inflexible" or "inevitable." It was she who determined the means of death and brought mortality to an end by cutting a mortal's thread with her dreaded scissors. Alongside her sisters Clotho, who spun the thread, and Lachesis, who measured its length, Atropos worked in harmony. Her presence has been depicted in numerous stories, including Atalanta and Achilles.
