Statue of Athena
myminifactory
The iconic Statue of Athena, crafted from marble and discovered on the island of Delos in Greece, now proudly resides at the National Archaeological Museum of Athens. A Roman replica from the 1st century AD, modeled after the "Medicci Athena," was sculpted by Pheidias or one of his students during the 5th century BC, likely following 430 BC. This remarkable object is part of the groundbreaking "Scan The World" project, a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory that aims to create a comprehensive digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the world for public access at no cost. Scan the World is an open-source community effort; if you have fascinating items nearby and wish to contribute, email stw@myminifactory.com to learn how you can participate.
