Statue of an Offerings-bearer

Didyma (Turkey) shelters a magnificent sanctuary dedicated to Apollo. Emerging from the 1911 excavation finds, this striking marble statue dates back to 530 - 520 BC, its larger-than-life size epitomizing the Kouros type of nude youth characteristic of the Archaic age. The Kouros figure stands proudly, grasping a sacrificial animal in front of his chest. This offering is securely attached to a rugged block with intricately carved plugs. A right hand firmly holds the rear legs of a ram or calf, attributed to this magnificent work of art. This remarkable object forms part of "Scan The World," a groundbreaking non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory. Through this innovative project, we are creating a comprehensive digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe, accessible to everyone for free.
