The term Ephebe originates from ancient Greece, describing a young adult or social standing assigned to individuals of that age during Antiquity. In Greek mythology, an ephebe refers to a young man or initiate, typically between the ages of 17 and 18, who is placed in isolation from his previous community, often the world of his mother where he was raised as a child. The isolated individual must rely on hunting skills, utilizing his senses, aggression, stealth, and cunning to survive during this period. Upon completion of the initiation, the ephebe is reintegrated back into society as a fully-fledged man, equipped with the necessary abilities to protect his community from potential threats.
