Statue of a Young Boy
myminifactory
The myrtle wreath and lantern signify that the youth served the Eleusinian cult; his duty was to bear the gifts to the sacred precinct. The statue is a replica of an original from ancient Peloponnese, crafted in the fifth century BC. It was produced in the second century AD. Discovered during excavation for the Quirinal tunnel, Domus Fulvius Plautianus.
