Miletus (Turkey), built into the "Goths' Wall"From a 1905 excavation of finds; marble, dating from 540 - 530 BC The torso of this statue of a girl was unearthed incorporated into a fortification wall of the third century AD alongside other antiquated sculptures, inscriptions and architectural fragments. Originally, it likely belonged to the collection of a sanctuary in Miletus along with some of these salvaged items. This object is part of "Scan The World".
