Statue of a Woman "Petite Herculanaise" at The Louvre, Paris

The small and large 'Herculanaises' are two statues unearthed in Herculaneum believed to be replicas of original sculptures crafted at the end of the 9th Century BC. The style of the two draped women is attributed to Praxilites, a renowned Greek sculptor and artist. Although the model's identity remains uncertain, historians argue that it could represent either Demeter or Coré based on the forms and drapery of the figures; this conclusion was drawn solely from examining the feet of the models.
