This elegant female figure stands out as one of the most sophisticated in the collection at The British Museum (GR 1859.12-26.9 - Sculpture B 280). She is draped in a stylish chiton and a majestic himation, which cascades elegantly around her shoulders. Her head, though now lost to time, was originally covered by a delicate veil. As a member of the local aristocracy, she likely wielded considerable influence, but unfortunately, no identifying inscription remains to confirm her status. A striking cross carved above her right breast serves as a poignant reminder of the early Christian period's iconoclasm.
