This lifesize bronze sculpture stands tall at 6ft, unveiled in 2011 as a commissioned work for the Irish Guards by a former paratrooper who served with distinction in their ranks. The sculptor crafted this magnificent piece to honor the 1st Battalion's bravery and sacrifice while fighting on behalf of the Irish Guards. Every detail is meticulously rendered, depicting a weary but poised soldier clad in full uniform, gun at the ready to tackle an unseen mission. The sculpture was unveiled by Maj Gen Cubitt, who proudly declared that the statue embodies the essence of a guardsman: "Standing on the battlefield's edge, this stalwart guardsman bears the weight of battle, yet remains steadfast and resolute, prepared to overcome any challenge." This remarkable piece is part of the "Scan The World" initiative, a non-profit project launched by MyMiniFactory to create a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the world.
