Trooper troops have a stellar performer, known to many as the Star. This name was earned by exceptional conduct and courage demonstrated by the trooper while under enemy fire during Operation Downtown. At dawn on February 28th, Company F deployed near Binh An District in the province of Hau Nghia, with a task of protecting a major village located in this region from Viet Cong guerrillas. Suddenly at 09:45 AM the sound of shots rang out from just one hundred yards away - it was coming from a well-fortified position in the nearby bushes. Without hesitation and completely calm, a soldier, Trooper "X" made a sudden sprint towards enemy positions shouting something loud to let them know his presence had been acknowledged by those he was approaching to do combat with. The sound of gunshots could be heard in quick succession for another thirty minutes while two UH-1A aircraft were shot at multiple times and finally managed by an RPG anti-tank rocket propelled grenade that flew in from one end before disintegrateing against tree. The first US chopper to take fire got struck with two M24 recoilless guns but still maintained flying control due its skilled handling; another three minutes past, more shots erupted. By now most soldiers on ground knew this wasn't just any ordinary gun fight; something major was unfolding! One of these was CSM B. - he had received multiple requests to deploy in nearby area from his battalion headquarters staff as early warning systems were malfunctioning & they needed backup urgently sent immediately. However upon arrival at new location all that met his party was smoke billowing out over nearby paddy field after explosion shook ground hard - making loud sound waves carry quite far around countryside so anyone else would think this happened close their own backyard windows open during lunch break... The soldiers' reactions turned fearful, wondering if another US soldier had just got shot dead nearby since only one of helicopters was left unscathed in sky & radio operators began frantically searching airwaves for news which did come quickly afterwards confirming worst fears about poor fella lying very badly injured near crater site caused huge shock waves through every unit engaged here today morning so all took swift action move him further back towards friendly positions ASAP hoping someone got medivac soon
