I own a Startrite 275 table saw, and for years, my old method of sweeping up chips from the sloped outlet had become increasingly annoying over time. I decided to design and print a new outlet that could connect seamlessly to my dust extractor. The internal edge of the door features a steel lip on the inside, which can be used as a connector; accordingly, I designed a Z top hat section to hook over the existing door edge without any fixings or connectors required. To ensure stability, I also incorporated several 8mm x 2mm magnets (rounded in size) at the bottom to secure to the steel base. To facilitate assembly and minimize potential mess, I designed the outlet in three separate pieces that can be easily glued together to form a single, cohesive unit. However, upon completion, I found that connecting them loosely proved sufficient, as the design allows for simple slotted assembly and provides robust stability once installed. I am extremely pleased with the outcome, as my floor is now chip-free.
