This is the next in my sequence of printing in colour. It leads on from three earlier Xmas prints.

Progress has been achieved in getting a correct colour balance -the palette is limited to 220. Prints size is to a resolution of 0.35mm.

I now use my Gimp script-fu to go directly from the original image to a raw data file which is the input for my program written in Scheme, This now produces sets of .obj and .gcode files. That is it converts a image into a 3d model and slices it. For this particular print I have published the .obj files but didn't use them, instead I just printed the gcodes. Please message me if your interest is piqued.

Below you can see the data file image produced in Gimp.

Copyright -- the original image was downloaded Wikimedia

Print instructions

You will need PLA in cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Print in order of file size - smallest first, except of course the backing file (b at the end if its name).

The gcodes do not carry print times - they will vary between 6 hours and a day.

You will see your nozzle repeatedly traversing the x-axis as it travels along the y axis.

Don't forget to remove the initial wipe before changing colours.

The backing file is set to a z-lift of 0.2mm and will print quickly.

Figures given for the gcodes below are estimates.
