This puzzle is a fully functional clone of the MF8 Startminx I, offering a unique corner turning experience similar to that of a Dino Cube but in a dodecahedron shape. Despite its numerous pieces, this puzzle remains relatively simple for beginners to solve. To assemble the puzzle, you will need to print 1 Core, 12 Centers, 30 Edges, and 20 Corners. Additionally, 12x 0.5x4x10 springs (available on AliExpress) and 12x M3x20 screws with a small head are required. While not essential, springs can be used to enhance the puzzle's performance. You may also choose to design center caps like the original model, but I opted for simplicity by covering the center hole with a sticker. However, you're welcome to improve this design using the Onshape source provided at [this link](https://cad.onshape.com/documents/9375a13c7370a15a6cdcc209/w/2f5fd0291997062fd1044deb/e/ac55135f209f92ee36c2363b). To demonstrate the turning quality, check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80v2kn0uZc4. For printing, I recommend splitting each piece into two halves and printing them separately. This technique allows for print without supports, using pieces with 'Split' in their file name. If you prefer to print whole pieces, I've also included 'As Is' parts for your convenience. Recommended print settings include a 0.3mm or 0.4mm nozzle, 0.1mm layer (or 0.2mm for slightly easier sanding), and 2-3 perimeters with 10-20% infill. Cooling as needed is also advised. The 'Split' version of the puzzle doesn't require supports. I recommend using ABS plastic due to its ease of sanding, although PLA and PETG can work well too. However, they may be more challenging to sand. For gluing, ABS pairs well with acetone, while PLA/PETG works well with dichloromethane. The Core halves have a few through-holes for precise positioning during assembly. You can secure the pieces by gluing filament there if needed. After printing and assembling the puzzle, some sanding will be required to remove surface unevenness and glue seams. Once smoothed out, you can paint the outer pieces with spray paint. Finally, cut stickers to complete your new MF8 Startminx I puzzle.
