Stark Industries Mk1 Arc Reactor - Night light with base
thingiverse
Kudos to zMark for his sleek design. The model was scaled up approximately 1.3 times to make it more striking, with a modified cage for optimal S3D slicing. A custom base was designed to complement a $6 USB touch lamp from Kmart, featuring a 105mm round base (http://www.kmart.com.au/product/led-touch-lamp-white/1937307). Simply remove the head and wires from clear white LEDs... or use some copper string lights (http://www.kmart.com.au/product/3m-twinkle-lights/765061) instead. Place two lights in each hole and one light every second gap around the glow ring, packing the rest inside the glow cap. Future modifications will likely be made to suit specific lighting options. Print your design in any color or paint it up, then bring it to life with lights! Key printing settings: * Nozzle: 0.5mm * Layer height: 0.2mm at 120mm/s (repeat this process with a 0.1mm nozzle and slower speed for better detail) * Top and bottom layers: 5 * Walls: 2 * Infill density: 15% rectilinear (10% grid infill for glowing parts, 20% for transparent filament)
