Starfox Reflector
thingiverse
I crafted a sci-fi shield for my cosplay project and took inspiration from Fox's reflector to bring it to life. Trisk, an industrial design student who worked on Super Smash Brothers for Wii-U, was the perfect source of inspiration. The device features a light at its core, which can be detached for easier color customization. To get started, I printed the device using a Velleman K8200 3D printer at 0.1mm layer height with 15% infill, opting for black PLA. This entire process took around five hours to complete. However, things got a bit complicated when it came to adding paint, as I was in a hurry and lacked experience in this area. It would have been more efficient to have utilized alternative techniques, which might yield better results. My friend assisted me by crafting a genuine leather strap to attach the device to my belt. The hand-stitched fake leather added a stylish touch to my cosplay attire.
