Starfleet Shelf Brackets

Starfleet Shelf Brackets

I'm a big fan of Star Trek ships, and I've got a collection that's simply out of this world! I also happen to own a 3D printer, which led me to think outside the box - or in this case, the printer. To showcase my prized possessions, I built some shelves with an ingenious design. They have spacious compartments that are six inches deep and cleverly equipped with keyholes on the back for secure wall mounting. I carefully crafted these shelves to be printed flat on their sides without needing any extra support. The best results were achieved when slicing them at a .2mm layer height, followed by 4 solid layers of top and bottom printing. Twenty percent infill worked perfectly, paired with an Octagram spiral fill pattern - try mixing it up with rectilinear or concentric if you're feeling adventurous! The keyholes are smartly designed with built-in support, making it a breeze to remove the small 1mm wide supports after printing.
