A handful of P-999's were created early in the mercenary incursions on the outer rim, each one hand-made conversion of racing ships from the Hazard Cutting asteroid mining circuit. The little Gossamers were nimble and still quite fast despite their military upgrades. Only a few survived the conflict, but postwar imitations have become a popular kit for collectors and hobbyists to create - with weapon kits of varying legality.
