Originally developed by deMartin as his personal speed demon, the sudden loss of the renowned starship designer plunged his corporation into a financial crisis, forcing him to auction off his prized plans and prototypes to spaceyards scattered throughout the outer rim. By the time mercenaries began launching surprise attacks, numerous heavily customized FAF-14s were dominating the skies with an array of diverse weapon loadouts. Although they had abandoned their racing roots, these sleek spacecraft could still pack a significant punch, more than holding their own in dogfights against standard military designs. Since every Hellion was painstakingly handcrafted, each one boasted distinct characteristics, and the finest models even featured genuine leather upholstery and intricately inlaid wood paneling in the cockpit.
