Starcruiser 1 Refit 2019
thingiverse
I came across some nostalgic images and videos of a model that captured my childhood imagination called the Starcruiser 1 by Airfix. It was unique because it blended entertainment with craftsmanship, separating into four distinct vehicles long before the advent of Transformers and similar toys. My research indicates that this iconic design was conceived by Gerry Anderson, renowned for his creative vision behind Space 1999, Thunderbirds, and other beloved franchises. Inspired by the original's innovative spirit, I decided to create a new interpretation called the Starcruiser 1 Refit 2019. This modern rendition consists of four interconnected pieces that can be assembled into a larger spacecraft. While I'm confident in my design's tolerances and connections, I acknowledge that they may require adjustments once printed. I continue to rely on Tinkercad for design purposes, although I've experimented with Fusion 360 and look forward to mastering its capabilities. To enhance the Starcruiser 1 Refit 2019, I drew inspiration from various Thingiverse creators' designs and incorporated their elements into my own work. The majority of the model, however, was crafted using Tinkercad's basic shapes and advanced shape generators. For attribution purposes, please refer to the Remix list for details on the borrowed components.
