I'm a big fan of StarCraft and the logo for its sequel is really impressive, being as it's a two-dimensional representation of a three-dimensional shape. I decided to take that two-dimensional image and turn it into an actual 3D model using SketchUp, then fine-tuned it with 3DBuilder after identifying a few areas that needed some adjustments. Printing out several copies proved to be a great way to experiment with different settings before getting the results just right. If you decide to give this a try, I'd love to see what you come up with!
