starcraft firebat
thingiverse
A Starcraft fan's dream project! I've managed to model an entire Firebat unit using Blender, a free and open-source 3D creation software. The model is fully textured and rigged, ready for animation. First, I created the base mesh of the Firebat using Blender's built-in tools. I started with a cube and then used the "Loop Cut" tool to create the armor plating on its body. Next, I added some curves to define the shape of the Firebot's head and legs. To give it a more realistic look, I added some normal maps and ambient occlusion textures. The normal map helps to add depth and detail to the model, while the ambient occlusion texture simulates how light would interact with the model in different environments. After that, I rigged the model for animation using Blender's built-in physics engine. This allowed me to create a realistic walking cycle and other animations for the Firebat. To complete the project, I added some particle effects to simulate the explosion of the Firebat's flamethrower. I used Blender's particle system to create a realistic simulation of flames and smoke. Overall, it was a fun project that allowed me to show off my skills with Blender and 3D modeling in general. The final result is a fully functional Firebat model that can be animated and customized to your heart's content.
