Starbucks Wall Sign Logo Plaque 6.5"/165mm
thingiverse
I really loved the first coaster I made and thought it would look amazing enlarged and displayed on a wall. I scaled it up to 6.5 inches or 165mm in size. Since I changed the dimensions of the original item, I decided to post this as a remix instead of a remake. I also wanted to change the color during printing to match the actual logo's white hue, so I found an excellent tutorial on YouTube that helped me achieve this. I shared the link and code below. To alter the color, I used this g-code: {REPLACE "; layer" "M117 Layer"}; show layer number and Z height on LCD {REPLACE " Z = " " Z="}; make room on LCD for text {REPLACE "\nM117 Layer 17, Z=" "\nG1 X10 Y5\nM300 S1000 P1000\nM0\nM117 Layer 17, Z="}\r\n; pause at layer, move head, play sound\r\n You can insert this code in the post-processing code box under scripts in Simplify3D. I'm not familiar with other programs, so I don't know how to add it to them. The tutorial that helped me is available on YouTube: [YouTube Tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFzlJB0XbNE) With my settings, Layer 17 marks the beginning of building letters. You might want to double-check this as different programs may have varying settings and layer numbers. Be sure to edit **both** instances of "Layer 17" in the code above with the correct layer number for your specific setup, or it will cause errors. As for mounting it on a wall, I plan to use [Scotch Mirror Mounting Tape](https://www.amazon.com/Scotch-051141402895-Mounting-60-inches-515P/dp/B015CSEI4S) on the back. It's thin and strong enough to hold it securely in place on the wall.
