Star Wars X-wing: AT-ST and conversion kit

I wish FFG would create ground vehicles for X-wing miniatures game, but so far they haven't. This set of files allows you to add AT-STs to your game. They're a lot of fun in epic/scenario/just for fun style games. I've been using attack 1, defense 1, hull 2, focus action only, and all the 1's for movement. First, you'll need an X-Wing style base. It has the same dimensions as the FFG 'small' fighter base. The 90-degree lines check firing arc. Posts in back hold ID tag. Second, you'll need an AT-ST model. Several beautiful models are available online, but none print cleanly at 1:270 scale due to excessive detail. So I created my own model and included it here. It's missing a lot of the detail found on larger models, but they look fine in this small size on the tabletop. I was planning to print multiple copies for my game without them looking exactly alike. There are six different leg positions available, allowing you to build each one slightly different. The head is a separate piece that needs gluing on, but this allows you to create variations in design. If ambitious enough, file the neck slightly to make the head look up or down. All models must be printed at 100% scale. The flight base prints bottom-down without supports, while the head is printed with guns facing upwards without any supports as well. Legs are printed with feet flat on the print bed and supports enabled due to unappealing cleanup. They're relatively small compared to normal supports, though. Note that better results come from printing AT-ST heads in groups of two or more to give plastic time to cool between layers. Otherwise, a single head might end up as a blob of plastic (I experienced this personally with the tall, skinny chin gun). If you choose not to use this model but still want an 8.6-meter-tall scale, a cylinder should be placed at 1.25 inches and centered in your build plate. Place the AT-ST model over it until its top meets the model's head level, then delete and print normally. The original creator will handle further calculations based on provided height numbers. This is the last piece of information for printing successful results with an AT-ST on X-wing scale (as well as general model building).
