Star Wars Tie Fighter X-Wing FAT
thingiverse
This is a beefy rendition of the Tie Fighter model I designed specifically for use with X-Wing. It's remarkably similar to the originals, yet boasts significantly enhanced robustness. I drew inspiration from numerous other designs, but most were plagued by fragile wings that often snapped when handled due to their slender profiles. This revised model is built to withstand rough handling and harsh conditions, making it perfect for crafting proxy Tie Fighters, painting, or simply dropping on the floor without worrying about breakage. Notably, version "1B" features a more rounded silhouette compared to its counterpart, "1". UPDATE 14-May-18: A new variant has been added - an overweight iteration, available in two styles: square-edged and rounded-edged designs. Although slightly thinner than the FAT version, this overweight model is still significantly more substantial than other Tie Fighter models I've encountered. Its reduced fragility makes it easier to print, while its increased mass ensures a more authentic representation of the original X-Wing models. I strongly advise using raft and supports to achieve optimal results.
