Here is a unique desk accessory inspired by the epic universe of Star Wars. This themed pencil holder boasts iconic logos from the beloved franchise - Star Wars, Jedi, Sith, and Rebellion. Adorning its surface are intricate details like small holes at the base of each side, perfect for housing two LEDs on each face. Beneath lies an innovative electronics housing that connects seamlessly to the bottom of the holder. Strategically designed channels guide LED connections into the housing's slots, providing ample space for running wires while neatly concealing components like resistors and batteries within. For a streamlined printing process, you can choose one STL file that encompasses the entire pencil holder as pre-assembled design or break it down into its constituent parts - individual faces with a separate base plate and electronics board. Printing in this configuration will omit LED installation, but assembling remains optional if needed. Post-printing assembly involves a logical series of steps: Firstly, you'll assemble all four sides together to create the foundation. Following that, you'll configure your LED circuit. In an upcoming post, I'll share both schematic and visual depictions for easy reference. When designing the LED circuit, consider implementing LEDs in parallel with resistors connected in series for optimal performance. Secure the wires leading into each face's holes prior to adding the electronics housing and its wiring infrastructure underneath. Finally, snap in place your pre-assembled electronics board on the bottom plate without fastening it using adhesives, and you're ready to begin.
